    Thu 30 Sep 2021

Teams from schools across Severn Bridges MAT have taken part in the Crossbar Cup. Teams from years three, four, five and six competed at Lilleshall on 15th, 22nd  and 29th September.

The teams took part in the annual five-a-side competitions, competing against hundreds of children from across the county. The events, organised by Crossbar Coaching Education in Sport, was staged at Lilleshall’s National Sports Centre.

In the boys’ event on 15th September, Mount Pleasant’s Year 6 team made it to the quarter finals, and Greenfields’ team narrowly missed out in the semi finals.

A week later in the girls’ event, the Greenfields team won the Crossbar Cup, with Radbrook’s girls’ team coming third in the Crossbar Plate.

In the third event on 29th September, the Year 3/4 teams displayed their skills, with Radbrook’s team making it through to the quarter finals and the Greenfields team reaching the final.

A huge well done to everyone who took part. Everybody was amazing and played their part in making the overall events so successful.

  • Great Start to Partnership Working

    Fri 24 Sep 2021

September 2021 has seen the launch of an initial cohort for the Early Years Foundation Stage in a partnership between Severn Bridges MAT and the Alliance of Leading and Learning (ALL) at the Marches Academy Trust.

ALL is a lead school for School Direct and has over twenty years’ experience in school-led teacher training and is committed to training teachers to be outstanding at the end of the programme.

This new partnership offers in-house lecturing at Severn Bridges MAT and the Marches Trust, combined with placements in schools and nurseries across both Trusts to provide a comprehensive and practical foundation for aspiring Early Years teachers.

The collaboration has started positively, with four trainees enrolled on the programme. Charlotte Houghton, EYFS Manager at Mount Pleasant Primary School, is seen here with the trainee teachers.
